I had to replace an failed ACS 3.0 module in a previously working system. The new 7.0 module is in and everything is working properly with the exception of the loudspeaker paging. The system uses a ValCom module that worked fine on the 3.0 system. The set up has two 308 modules and a Partner Mail 5.0 two port module. There are five lines and the loudspeaker was previously on line six. It is still on line six and I am not sure if the fact that it is not on line five is the problem. It works fine in the hands free speaker phone mode, but does not work if the hand set is off the hook. The button seems to be dead with the receiver lifted. Line five is the fax line and I would rather not have to reprogram everything related to it if I don't have to. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Rick

Use line port 5 for paging. First (#617) to assign port. Then program number of lines #104. This will put your lines in order on the phones while skipping line five alltogether.
Then program an intercom 70 button to access paging

Ok, I moved the loud speaker to the line 5 port and the line five cable to the first port on the first line of the first 308 module. This has only changed the button placement I still cannot have to have the handset lifted and get a pager tone. I must be missing something.

Did you program #617? That lets the system know what port you are using for paging. Then #104 number of lines.

Yes. I'll try it again and see if it works Friday.

On the R3 system was the paging line hooked to the paging port or the line 6 port. If it was hooked to a line port it uses a C.O. paging integration (not the normal paging integration used on the partner) and the #617 should not come into play. You may want to check the valcom adapter and make sure it is providing battery to the unused line port and make sure none of the other options on the paging adapter have been changed

Thanks to 1043 and ttech for your help. I made the mistake of programing a button on each phone for loud speaker and trying to use the ACS paging feature instead of letting the ValCom module handle the task. Ttech's post jogged my memory about this. I programmed the system for six lines rather than five and took the loudspeaker feature off of all the phones. I plugged line five back into the line five port and line six now serves as the ValCom port and works perfectly on all handsets.

Thanks,
Rick
