I have an employee that changed her phone to a brand new Norstar m7324 and I am having trouble programing her phone so she can use the handsfree feature. Can you help me?
I was told that I should go into the ext. under capabilities-handsfree should be on "Auto"& HF answerback should be "Y". I have done these things and still the headset button is not working. If you have another way as to fixing my issue I would love to here. I am in need of help here.
What button?
The M series do not have a head set button.
If it is a T series it has a head set button but you need 6.1 software (or up) on phone system for it to work, otherwise like the M series you need to press the Handsfree button below the Intercom to use the headset.
Another thing, when you changed her phone did it take on the same ext #? if so then no programming required if the headset worked on the previous phone.
The Handsfree button becomes the headset button when a headset is plugged into the center jack on the back of the phone. FYI the headset must be then adjusted to the "handset type" this is usually (on plantronics) a slide switch on the side of the amp box. and on a plantronics I think the setting is 5 (turn on the handsfree button and slide the switch until you hear dialtone)
to check and make sure that you have audio out of the headset jack plug the handset into the middle jack and press the handsfree button. you should be able to hear and talk at that time.

Thank you to all of you for helping me. The headset is up and running again. All I did was unplug and plugged back in. Not sure if that reset it or not.
