A little help please! I am trying to connect to my 61C/11C via procomm plus/hyper terminal, but I am having no luck. Can someone please tell me what I am missing? Thank you.

Sorry about that. With the serial cable connected to J15 and procomm running, I cannot type.

[ul]
[li]Set the port on Procomm (like COM1 or whatever)[/li]
[li]Set the speed to 9600 bps and 8N1[/li]
[li]Terminal type VT220 will work with both systems you listed.[/li]
[li]Make sure you switch between a straight cable and a null modem cable (or add a null modem adapter to your existing cable) to see if all you need is to switch the SD and RD pins.[/li]
[li]Make sure the correct CPU is active. If you are on the core, you want to be on the active core.[/li]
[/ul]

An 11C does not have a J15

ansi bbs, 8 none one at 9600 is a good place to start.. might need a nul modem IF both ends match.. one needs to be dce, the other dte.... you can short pins 2 and 3 in the db45 to test the pc.. that allows typing on screen, but nothing else...

on a large switch, start with j25/j26 instead of the paddle boards, those talk to the ACTIVE core.. so rear of the active core NO chance of it not being default..
