I have an ip office 500 with software 8.1.63.

I had a combo card with bad co ports on it. when i swapped it out for a new one, in system status, the admin side of the co lines are in service, but overall, they are out of service.

How can i resolve this?

the new combo cards are for a higher release I believe release 8 or 8.1

acss sme acis sme acss cm 5.2.1 acss cm and cmm acss aura messaging.

Also if you read the instruction paper that comes with the new combo card it will tell you this, most people do not even bother to read this notice

acss sme acis sme acss cm 5.2.1 acss cm and cmm acss aura messaging.

i read the instructions that came with the card. no info on it for the release level of it.

Then you must of bought this from a reseller as Avaya says what release it will work on

acss sme acis sme acss cm 5.2.1 acss cm and cmm acss aura messaging.

It should work from 8.1.63 and higher.
I would remove the combo card, erase it in software ( first delete all extension numbers otherwise all the users on this card will be erased as well ) and then reinstall the new card.
Had to do this last week when replacing a defective VCM32 for a new version VCM32 card, it was not recognized by the system initially.

8.1.63 was an unstable release and had issues with analog ports and echo cancellation. Upgrade to 8.1.79 before you spend any time troubleshooting.

tried to do that. deleted the extensions, then users, then the card from inventory. removed card from the system, and defaulted the cabinet. installed the card again, still the same issue, the unit sees the card, but puts the co lines out of service thru system status. no lights on the card.

I would agree that 8.1.xx had many issues. I would upgrade to 8.1.79 before you spend too much time on this as it could very well be any issue with .63.

If it is a V2 card you need to hook a trunk up to it. It will go offhook, test the line and then put itself in service.

You could link a alog station port to a trunk port and then it should go in service.

finally got it to work. did what intrigrant said to do, but had to do it twice, and then default the system twice as well.

thanks for all the help
