Private Line on IP Office 8.0

Hey all,

Programming an IP Office and customer wants a private line to ring on the phones.

What I did was add a Line Appearance of the analog POTS line to the 8th button. I can access the line from the phones just fine but when I call into that private line, it just lights the button (GREEN) and does not ring it. I set it to Immediate on the Line Appearance.

Any ideas to fix it to ring the phone?

I did notice in the trace that the incoming call looks for a route, then it says no initial targets.

Make that line a separate incoming group id, make an incoming call route for that line id, and point it to that phone.

It is multiple phones. Not just one single phone.

I just tested something...

When I put this "private line" on button 1 of the 1408 it rang. But when I put it back on button 8, it didn't ring. Is there something in the firmware that tells the phone to only allow ringing on the first few buttons?

Cannot imagine there would be. You can put line appearances pretty much anywhere and they should work as is.

first 2 buttons should always be call appearance buttons.

Nah, they removed that restriction in 7.0.

add a collective call waiting hunt group, add all 8 users to the hunt group, give the co line a unique incoming id, build a incoming call route pointed to the hunt group as suggested earlier.
