The issue: Sometimes the Primary IDE detects whatever is attached to it (currently the DVD-ROM drive) and sometimes it does not.
Athlon XP 2200+
MSI KT4V via KT400 w/Lan
MSI GeForce4 4800SE Vid Card
SoundBlaster Audigy 2
Maxtor 7200rpm 80gig
LG DVD-ROM
512mb PC2700 DDR333 SDRAM
300watt Power Supply
Ok. So, the main factor seems to be the Audigy. When it's out, the primary IDE, the DVD-ROM in this case, gets detected. When it's in, the primary IDE doesn't detect.
I've tried all sorts of things - but I'm a little lost for ideas at this point. Was wondering if anyone has seen anything like this before - or if maybe it's a motherboard problem.
