I have 3 analog trunks on an IP office V8 system. Each trunk has a different outgoing line ID

Is it possible to specify somewhere that a particular extension should use a predetermined line ID by default?

User shortcode pointing to the right ARS.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thank you. I had short codes for selecting lines but had not understood that user short codes get executed automatically

There is a certain way the system checks shortcodes

In this order they will be checked

Line shortcodes
User right shortcode
User shortcodes
System shortcodes.

This is from the top of my head so i could be a bit wrong.

But user shortcodes are checked before system shortcodes.

Line shortcodes are not checked, they are for incoming calls. So it's user, user rights (pretty much same thing) then system shortcodes :)

I understand that there is a priority but I believe that the short codes still have to be entered by the user.

I am looking for a way that the short code for line selection will be executed automatically when the extension goes off hook. Is this possible?

A shortcode is just a code that matches whatever the user dials, it isn't somehhing they need to specifically dial before the number they want. As an example a user shortcode of:
Shortcode - 9N (or ? For uk)
Feature - Dial
Tel number - N (or . for UK)
Line group - the line group/ARS

Whenever that user dials anything that isn't an extn it will go to whatever line/ARS you specified :)

Thanks amriddle. I should have noticed the ? for default match.
