Possible to use 'Call Monitor/Listen-In' with active hunting or FWD (NS700)

Hi All,

We would like to use the 'call monitor' feature on the NS700... (1.3.7 Operating Manual... Listen-In to conversation of a busy extension).

However, if we use DSS button and have call hunting programmed (or FWD BY/NA, or make an ICD group), pressing the DSS button (or PDN/SDN with multiple appearances), the call redirects (correctly as programmed) and without a busy tone, there is no opportunity to monitor.

There is an option in CA to allow listen in, but it only works on KX-T (hardwired phones) not any SIP or network connected phones.

Is there any work around to use the call monitor/listen-in to an extension AND be able to use call hunting, FWD, ICG, Overflow or any other set up with a covering extension?

Monitoring Another Extension (Call Monitor) is determined in COS and it works on SLT / PS / DT / NT phones but not on SIP phones

It works on all phone types with a DSS button and no hunting or forwarding with the correct COS.

Unless the DSS issues a busy, there’s no way to access the monitor.
