We are still running the old POS 2700 and I would like to ask a question.
Our fiscal year starts tomorrow October 1. When I check total sales on this old machine it shows 1,000,000.00. There is no way we did that much sales. How would I clear that part so I can keep up with total sales. Thanks

Sign on a valid Mgr #
While holding down the "shift" button, press "enter"
This puts you into the program
Now press
2 - (System Config)
4 - (Utilities)
3 - (Clear)
1 - (All totals)
2 - (Yes)

It only takes 4-5 seconds, then just press the clear button a bunch to back out of the program. Do this on every terminal in this system.
BEWARE - this also clears time clock totals, if you're using the time clock then perform this procedure AFTER running your weekly labor report. This does not reset the training total. You must perform a "Grand Total Reset" to reset the training total. Google "Micros 2700 troubleshooting" and you'll find websites with helpful info re: the Micros 2700. The sites I have visited have many helpful procedures and you can print them out as well. Good Luck

Thanks for that tip. We are learning. You have been great help. I do need one more tip if you could . I need to add a new item to the screen. I have tried but have not been able to make it work. The name of the item is GHIN. I clicked save but it will not show on the main screen. How do I add an icon like that. I think I can add the price but need the icon item to show. Thanks. Tom

Without knowing how your system was programmed anyone may struggle to describe exactly how to do that but generally, on the 2700 touchscreen model most users simply need to know the correct SLU #. IE: you want to add a dessert, you look at the other desserts and notice they all have the same SLU # (lets say its #8), so you program a new menu item, you put in the name, price, major & family group, printer routing etc. (many times the dealer will pre-program menu item areas so that all you need to add is name, price, & SLU), you MUST put an "8" in the SLU field. Now when you press desserts on the touchscreen, you new item appears, bear in mind you may have to page down to find additional items (once the list outgrows the area on the screen, you page down to find the 2nd page of items). It's all about that SLU #. Remember thou, your database may be structured differently, there are many ways of programming menu items on the 2700 and what I've posted may not work but it is a very typical set up. BTW there are a total of 64 SLU's (1-64) avaialable on the 2700. Good Luck

TobeThor, you have saved me several times and for that I owe you. I want to thank you for taking time to help me on this old machine. I will probably be back asking more questions. Happy Holidays and thanks again. Tom

TobeThor, I did as you said today to add menu items and it worked. Thanks so much. I would not been able to do this without your help. Thanks again. Tom

Tobe Thor, i have been working with the micros 2700 for quite sometime. I can change menu items, prices, add condiment screens and so fourth. However, i am completely hung up on adding a new menu key. I have changed the name of an existing key that didnt perform any function, but how do I assign this button an SLU code. I have looked the system over expecting to find a list of SLUs but to no avail. Please help

Describe further "adding a new menu key"? Do you mean a brand new SLU button that will display a list of menu items?
