I have a 500 set that I'd like to change to a 2008 but I get an error message when I OUT the 500 in ld 10, and attempt to move the 2008 to the old 500 port in ld 11.

Is this impossible or am I missing something?

You can't put a digital phone on an analog linecard. Go into LD 11 and type the following to find a vacant digital port:

REQ LUVU
TYPE 2000

Then <cr> thru the remaining prompts and IF you have vacant digital TNs, it will give them to you.

A 500 set goes on an NT8D09 ALC and a 2008 goes on an NT8D02 DLC.

Sounds like you trying to programm a 2008 on a analog port. You need to find a digital port.

ld 20
luvu
2000

will give you a list of vacant digital ports.. move the jumper

Sounds like something I might have to do.

Except my digital and analog ports are in 2 seperate closets...with a few meters between them. Cept there is a big hole in the wall.....

OK, you know have to tell us why your analog and digital ports are in differant room.

Well it might not be 100% true. Come to think of it, my port 12 2 is right in there with the terminal and I dont have a digital set.

But there is a ton of phone blocks in the closet next door, which look to have been there longer...and are not labeled.

I didnt set this up. =)

None of my attachments for my Punching tool seem to fit. Im sure it was around here at one point 10months ago when I tookover here.

Anyone know the model of the impact blade attachment I would need to change the wires on the TN block?

What model are the Blocks???

Are you saying you have your phone cbinets in different rooms or are you talking about the punch down blocks????

You have an Option 11C with how many cabinets????

It should either be 110 blocks or 66 blocks. My switch terminates at 110 blocks but my floors com into the switch room and terminate on a mix of 110 and 66. Generally, (All I have seen) 66 blocks are the ones that go up and down and the 110 blocks go horizontally. 66 block tip is enclosed and the 110 block tip is open. I have one punch down tool tip that has 66 on one side and 110 on the other, both cutters. It's a handy little guy. I do have regulr tips too in case I need to punch but not cut.

Oh - I always thought "bix block" was just the generic name for 110 and 66 blocks. Different tips for bix?

They may make a BIX bit for the other Punch down tools, but I never saw one , I always had a BIX tool.

Looks like I need that BIX piece after googling it. It looks familiar, but I couldnt find it in my office.

All I have are the 66 and 110 blade pieces.

Wow these things are expensive for such a small piece of metal....
