Hello I have recently obtained a Polycom SoundStation IP 5000 (Rev 4.3.1.0440) and a cx would like to activate the conference phone on their existing IP Office 500 V2. I have the license. My first question to you is will this Polycom connect? My next question is does this set have a GUI? I have looked online (i guess not that hard) and havent found any good documentation. Thanks for your time

Yes, they work fine. Just did one yesterday. They have a web front end. If you have to dial 9 for anything, make sure you setup your digit maps properly.
Here is a doc from avaya:

I had success with a Polycom IP 4000 recently too. Just need a 3rd party SIP endpoint license and 20 minutes. Here is the guide I used. It's not official Avaya but it worked perfectly.
Make sure you do a factory wipe of the polycom to start. Made it a lot easier for us when the polycom was previously setup for a 3Com VCX. To reset power off the device, power on and hold 6, 8 and * dial pad keys. You have to do this quickly.

jayjr1105 I believe that the reboot sequence worked on the unit. It retained the 192.168.1.100 IP I programmed but cleared all other fields. I am able to ping that IP but when I try to access the GUI I get nothing

I remember it being finicky whether I could get to the web gui or not. Eventually after the factory reset it pulled from DHCP and I got to it then.
