Some of my pictures are not showing in preview in "Windows picture and fax viewer". I can't open/edit/delete them too. Can't open with other programs either. Anyone knows what might cause this?
Run CHKDSK on the partition/drive that the pictures are on, e.g. if they are under the "My Documents" folder (My Pictures), then they reside on the C: drive, you would type in the RUN BOX (or CMD window): chkdsk /f
this will check the integrity of the drive/partition...
Cleaning the Registry is often a prelude to performing a reformat and clean install of the operating system. Make sure you have backed up your valuable data.
Before you get as as far as a clean install you could try a repair install. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.
