In system configuration, I have attached a T7316 phone to a line. Unfortunately it shows in the system as a modem M7310. Which is making programming a bit of mess. Can anyone please tell me if there is any6thing I can do that would correct this.

The system is a Norstar MICS with SP 30CQE06 NAT.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Thank you for your prompt response. Unfortunately, I am not offered the option to change the model. It is a READ-Only Field.

Is there a means to make it changeable.

Thanks.

SP 30CQE06 NAT is 6.1.
Strange.
I hardly work with Norstar anymore, but I thought you could change the set type.
I was aware of Norstar seeing T7316 as 7310's prior to 6.1, but I thought 6.1 changed that.
I checked the documentation to be certain and found that 6.1 added compatibility for the T7316E, but 7316's will still show as 7310's in programming.
So, no way around it.
The buttons do not count consecutively.
Button 1 is the 4th button down on the left, then 2 - 5 are below it in sequence
Button 6 is the 4th button down on the right, then 7- 10 are below it in sequence.
Button 11 is on the top left. Now the count moves to odd numbers only ... so 11 on the top left, 13 below it, then 15, then 1.
Button 17 is on the top right, then 19, then 21.
The (8) buttons at the very top are all odd numbers only. Top left 23 - 29 and top right 31, next one 33, then the kicker ... the next two are 24 and 26 on the diagram I have.

Good luck!

Thank you for the information. I am sure I will be able to figure it out given the detail you have provided.

Well, It's been awhile since I logged this but a personal situation prevented early followup.

I started going through the system one step at a time and lo and behold, while the T7316 I installed are showing as M7310, there are in fact 2 T7316 showing as model T7316 in PORT and DN under maintenance. Does this make any sense to anyone?

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

The T7316 has 2 buttons below the keypad and the T7316e has 3 buttons, (the 3rd button is a handsfree)

Thank you. That was indeed the case, the properly recognized are T7316E (even though they show as T7316). Baffling though, that they would have updated for a later one and not the original. Thanks for the help.

T7316 will show as M7310 on all s/w levels, only the T7316E will show as T7316E and only on 6.1 and above.
The T7316 will have lines start at button 4 on all s/w levels. The T7316E will start on button 4 as well on 6.0 s/w and below, on button 1 on 6.1 and up. The KIM will only work on 6.1 and up and only on T7316E.
