One of our users now has a laptop as their main machine and cannot use Phone Manager to manage her calls. other machines seem to be OK.

I had trouble installing Phone Manager onto the machine at first, it didn't pick up the IP of the server - was just blank, but after I disabled the wireless network connection and went via the regular LAN, it identified it.

When opening up Phone Manager to use it, it had no knowledge of who she was so I tried to configure the PBX, but the PBX address displayed looked like the test IP address shown in the Help files. I couldn't change it...

The correct values are present in the registry, they're just not being used.

Have checked that the firewall is not blocking it, as the program is an allowed exception.

Any other ideas... Please... :)

Thanks

Tara

On the laptops we have we had to turn OFF the firewall then install the software for it to work.

hope the user has desktop admin rights, not always given in certain offices

As it is a laptop user do they hae any VPN software installed?

Some VPN ( & Anit-Virus) software can interfere with the IPO data transfer.

Thanks for your suggestions - I ensured the user had admin rights, and temporarily disabled the AV software but nothing doing - it still didn't automatically pick up the server IP.

Anyway, I manually added the server and account details and that seemed to work, including unit name, extension and password even though these weren't required on the wizard walk-through.

Once Phone Manager was installed, I configured the PBX settings since the IP address had been forgotten, but this time, I could enter the correct IP, and it picked up the appropriate accounts to pick from.

So, finally it's working!
