Question for Passport 8000 series users. Does anyone have a source for PCMCIA cards?

We have 64 Meg PCMCIA cards in our Power Rangers and Core 8600's....but...we need to purchase some PCMCIA cards for a lot of our remote Passport 8100's..(and a few 8600's).

Nortel has discontinued the older ones and we can only get them as small as 64 Meg. 64 Meg is overkill for our 8100's...and we don't want to pay $240.00 bucks a piece for them.

Does anyone have a source for cards smaller than 64 Meg...or 64 Meg for less than $240 a pop??

Thanks in advance.....Dane

Hi Dane,

Keep in mind that PCMCIA cards for the 8000 series are TYPE II PCMCIA and are fairly generic as they are formatted for standard PC slots.

We do happen to have plenty of stock of the 16MB PCMCIA cards which in conjunction with the 8MB cards, tend to be the most popular memory size needed for most customers.

I am not one to use this forum to advertise my company's capabilities, or use this as a sales vehicle, however, if you are unable in need of these, I'd be happy to get in touch with you to tell you how to purchase these. Merely post an email where I can contact you, and I will identify myself appropriately.

And yes, the prices are better than the 64MB cards.

Thanks,

HH

HH - cool...that would be great...

You can also use PCMCIA to Compact Flash converters and buy your flash as CF cards, that's what I do with 256MB CF cards (the cheapest/smallest Lexar CF cards I could find.)

Anthony...not familiar with that, would have to do some research first.

Thanks for the input...
