I just assembled a new pc. Booted fine and i installed Windows XP and some apps. All of a sudden the pc kept shutting down and rebooting. I replaced the memory and psu and that wasnt it. I'm thinking its a voltage problem or possibly the cpu (AMD Sempron 2600) or the mobo ECS K8M800-M2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

WD diagnostics found a few bad sectors towards the end of the scan but fixed them. While running PCMark it stopped at 51 of 62. Error signature. App name: pcmark2003 mfc application. I then ran pcmark again without running the video performance benchmark and these were the scores:
CPU score: 5160
Memory score: 5254
HDD score: 1046
Crash occurred while running the video performance benchmark.
Should i continue installing my apps..ie, ms office, ad-aware, spybot, etc?

ok ran xp2, ms office and my other apps. No problems so im thinking it was the faulty memory module. Ben and to the others..THANKS SO MUCH for all your help. BTW..how were my PCMark benchmark scores that i posted previously?

The scores are ok for your setup...

Sorry, about not getting back as quick as I had liked...

experienced a total crash of my system... had to reinstall everything... but am back at the ball...

btw. if you encounter anymore probs, do not hesitate to ask...
