Customer has a PRI and basic twinning enabled. When they receive a call, they see the caller ID of the main office. Can you pass through the incoming caller ID to the twinned cell phone?
Yes, if the PRI carrier allows it. Many times they restrict the outgoing caller id to numbers that are associated with the account.
For R9.0 go to System > Twinning and check the box for "Send original calling party information for Mobile Twinning"
Run Monitor, check all the boxes on the ISDN tab, run System Status, go to the PRI and click on Trace All.
Place a call that is twinned, and through Monitor and SSA confirm that the incoming caller is is the "calling party" on the outbound call. If that original caller id is not received at the destination, contact your carrier to allow the pbx to control the outbound caller id, and open for ANY number.
Finally, make sure you are sending a valid number on emergency calls
Yes, you can do this. To enable this in R9 go to System->Twinning and check the box that states "send original calling party information for mobile twinning" (in later releases it is on the Line/PRI tab).
Sometimes the PRI provider will block outbound calls trying to pass out a number that is not in your block of DIDs (if you check the box mentioned above and it breaks twinning). This was common in the past and we have to call the carrier and explain twinning and to allow them to pass out any number. You may also want to check the 9N short code or ARS to see if you are forcing out the main number.
Is this not possible on version 10 or 11? I don't have access to the customer's box at the moment but was looking to test it here in our lab which is running 10 and 11. I don't see System > Twinning on these two boxes.
