Hi everyone! I trying to pass location in header. I added Address in Identity tab in SMGR with no luck; I reviewed header information via trace and no address was passed. I am at the infancy stages of ELIN and PSAP and am looking in to passing info without buying an e911 solution. If anyone has a high level view of an architectural design and what I need to make this work I would really appreciate it! Thanks.

What information do you want to pass, and to who?

If it's just the PSAP, then in the ip-network-map you can set a DID per subnet - or Emergency Location Extension (ELE). If you dial a call of type alrt in ARS, you will send as calling party number the extension defined in ELE.

If you have the feature on your PRI or SIP trunks to 'send whatever you DID you want as CPN to 911' then 911 just has 555-555-1111 as 101 main st 1st flr and 555-555-2222 as 101 main st 2nd flr etc.

Session Manager, for each SIP registration can have an ELIN populated by an ELIN server. Session Manager will overwrite the P-Asserted-Identity/From headers with that ELIN number if a Session Manager dial pattern with the 'emergency' box is ticked. Same concept though - the ELIN server might track your IP and know that your IP and MAC is on data switch 5 on the 5th floor and ultimately pass the same information along to the PSAP.

Now, if you have an e911 solution so security at the front desk gets a screenpop, then other SIP headers could provide more information down to a cubicle number. Heck, you can send the cubicle number as the name display to 911 if they're able to support it, but you're using more than 'calling party number'

Thanks Kyle555!

As far as changing CLID per ip-network region. I did the following, created new extension 5555, added extension to ip-network region, set all extensions in region to emergency location extension 5555 and did a ch pub unknown 5555 to local POTS number, then set 911 to alrt in main ars table. I had user dial 8911 from IP network region and it failed. I also have the extension set to per CPN Y on 2nd page. The extension he dialed from 7555 has ch public 7 (one digit) main business number as CPN, which is what displayed when dial 911. Do you know if I am missing a step?...ok I just put 'y' next to always use next to emergency location. Let me know if this looks correct? and I will try again...

Also I believe ELIN server design may only be beneficial for multiple building or floors within the same campus for the corp attendant or Security, Correct?
