I have a new IP OFC Partner edition on my test bench that I'm playing with. I cannot afford to attend a class for IP Ofc at this time besides Avaya claims that the IP OFC Partner edition is basically the same as the 8.0.... so schooling should not be necessary. I'm very comfortable programming the Partner ACS 8.0 and earlier as well as Partner Messaging....No problem there.

I have downloaded a lot of info on the IP Partner Edition but I'm stuck on instructions on how to program the Auto Attn'd. For example..How to change a greeting, Access VM remotely thru the AA, mostly basic stuff.
I have searched for many hours on the Avaya website but I'm coming up empty..What I'm asking for is some help.. maybe a link that would be specific only to the Voice Mail system that is embedded with the new Partner Edition...I guess what I'm looking for is instructions like we had back when we had a book or cd for the Partner Messaging 7.0... I have downloaded the Manager on my laptop but I only find setting info, not user info. Anyone out there that can point me in the right direction ?.
Thanks

There isn't a traditional installation / programming manual like we're all used to on the ACS. There are some technical manuals on the Knowledge Base, but you need an SSO login to access them.

The first thing to do when you open a configuration in Manager, is click on "View", and then Un-Tick "Hide Admin Tasks"

When you go to Auto Attendant Setup, you will see the Intercom number you dial to record or listen to the greetings - 7841 for the Auto Attendant, and 7811, 7821, 7831, and 7851 for the various optional preamble greetings.

There are drop down boxes for "Setup Auto Attendant Actions" - these are your selector codes. 1-9, 0, *, #, and Fax tone. Pick your own, but I use * for "Voicemail Collect" for remote VM access (and the users must set passwords on their mailboxes before they can be accessed remotely), # to replay the AA greeting. Don't know if timeout is the same as 0-out, haven't tested that yet.

If this is going to be the future of Partner, we should learn and share all we can to make it successful.

Thanks for your help...Many of us that use this forum are familiar with the Partner programming but it looks like the Voice Mail side of the new IP Office edition leaves a lot to be desired as far as programming is concerned..
Some of the webinars hosted by Avaya lead one to believe that this new unit is a easy transition from the ACS to the IP Ofc and spending about $ 2,000 for in classroom training is not necessary.I don't mean to vent here but I would like to ask Avaya to at least provide a CD with every unit like they did for the ACS systems. With all of the different versions of IP ofc and Voice Mail choosing the correct download on the Avaya site can be confusing.

Anyway a star for you..You are always most helpful!

I have let Avaya know many times that the manual is lacking. It is written from the perspective of someone who knows IPO, not Partner. I have been told they will work on it. We'll see....

sysconsultant..Thanks for letting Avaya know..

You can find some of the materials on the SD card. Open manager, and go to Card Management.

Also, just did an upgrade to 6.0(14) maintenance release, it didn't put the new 14xx files on the card, had to move them manually. The phones were stuck at waiting for boot file until we got that figured out.

Thanks to all for the replies...
As TTT states, "we should share all info to make this Partner Version successful"... so I will share a little info that may not be news to some of you out there that have attended training for the IP Ofc but here it is anyway.

I have found that in the Auto Attnd setup the ONLY AA greeting that responds to a night button [ #503 ] assigned is the AA greeting 7841.
The others follow the Morning, Afternoon & Evening schedule.
So to many of us who are used to a night button and do not want to use the schedule for switching day to night you must record a greeting in 7841...
I have searched a lot of documentation for a explanation but no luck.
If anyone out there can help with info to the contrary please correct me...I'm eager to learn.

7841 is "Menu Options" - Think of this as the Auto Attendant Greeting

7811, 7821, 7831, and 7851 are greetings that play BEFORE the Auto Attendant Greeting. They are Morning, Afternoon, and Evening, controlled by the Greeting Times, and whether or not you have ticked them. The Out of Hours will play before the AA greeting when in Night Service.

Personally, just record 7841, leave everything un-ticked, and don't record 7851. Now pretend it is PC Card Mail.

Set your Selector Codes, I used * for Voicemail login, and # to replay the greeting.

Our 2nd install had the SD card lock up somehow, you could not change 7841 from what I recorded originally. Finally changed the control unit and the card, just to get it working and a happy customer.

TTT..Thanks for the heads up on the programming of # for the " to replay of this message " prompt..I would have realized that I left it out while training users..Not a good time to look bad in front of customers..
A star for you!
I welcome any other tips..
Thanks

you will need to press *0 to reach ext 10 (operator) when in a mailbox, the 0 only option does not work, found that out the hard way

IPOguy..Another good tip...A star for you..Keep the info coming!
Thanks
