Partner II 3.1 1

Partner II with expansion cabinet, 3.1 processor. The system will dump programmin whenever power blinks. There is a UPS inline, and I have replaced batteries on PCB. Suggestions?

Check your work on replacing the internal batteries. There is a switch mounted on the PCB that may have gotten turned off.

TTT is bang on. Also check for broken pcb traces or a bad new battery.

hi guys, one of my tech's is looking for information about possibly swapping out a customer's internal battery on their partner 3.1 module. where can we get directions on what's involved ? I already found a vendor on the web who's selling them for $ 49. thanks

If you need directions you shouldn't be doing it! I also think $49 is a bit ridiculous for a NiCad.

battries should be less then 10.00 I think I paid around 6.50 last ime I ordered them

they are common varta type nicads you might evan find them at radio shack

you need to pop open the processor and then desolder the old battries and solder in the new ones

not rocket science but it does take a certain proffencancy with soldering and a decent solder iron.

if you have never done this kind of thing before find a old PC board and prctice taking componets on and off

thanks very much skip555. my technician is going to be doing this work tomorrow, so he asked me to ask you about getting inside the processor module. is it easy to pop open/take apart ? any things to watch out for ? any tips ? no big deal ?? we are not use to working on these older systems, thanks.

Hi socalbulldog,
Using a small flat screwdriver, apply tension to the hooks inside the rectangular holes. Pull the clamshell apart steadily, not real hard. Each hook will "pop" back and you can progress to the next. The metal cover will fall out near the MOH jack. If you pry the plastic hooks too hard, they will break.

if you look there are arrows pointing which direction to push the clip in molded in the case

I find it easier to start in the back where you have a large opening for the pc board


like Chris says slow and steady will get it done the first one is always a challange
