Hello,
I am new to the Partner ACS systems. I have a R7.0 processor with a T-1 card and Partner Mail R4.0. First My telco did not install a PRI T1 for caller ID data. If I get the PRI T installed what do I need to do to get the caller ID working? I have to POTS lines installed in the system as well. Is there anyway to get the caller ID info via those lines??

Thanks for your help,
Rich

If you get PRI, you will need to get a new phone system, Partner doesn't support PRI. Caller ID on POTS is supported.

40 years in the business and counting.

Thanks! So if we recieve a call over the T1 we have now is there any way of getting the caller ID info?

Telprog,
Is your answer because the Partner doesn't support Caller Id over the T1? I only ask because I thought Caller Id was not available on a T1 period, however I have found that it can be done, I recently programmed a Norstar to accept it on a T1. Just curious?

Caller ID over T-1 was supposed to be available in the R7 release according to the earliest pre-release info circa R6. Somehow it was pushed back and out, probably as a result of the problems experienced in the T-1 module during its initial offering. With any luck, it'll be available in R8, and with even more luck, a no cost flash upgrade will be made available to those already deployed.

CID (actually ANI) is available on both channelized T-1 and PRI, depending upon the carrier. Almost every carrier's switching equipment offers it as a feature, but many are not tariffed to allow it to be activated.

Thanks for all the help guys! I called Avaya Tech support, they say the T1 module will only support E&M T1. I have a channelized T1 with DID, I believe I can get ANI (CID) on my T1 as well, anyone know when R8 will be out??

Thanks
Rich

I assume the T1 module for the partner ACS does not support ANI data...
