I recently purchased a used Partner phone system. My 2 display phones say "Voice Messaging System" when a call comes in. I have 3 separate phone lines plugged into the system.

Line 1 is in the ACS Processor under PFT I
Line 2 is in the ACS Processor under PFT II
Line 3 is in the ACS Processor directly under PFT II

I have the auto attendant stating "dial 10 for person X, dial 11 for person Y, dial 12 for person Z" and so on. When the call goes to one of the 2 display phones we see "Voice Message System".

I've called Verizon 3 times and they say the Caller ID should be active on all 3 lines. It's been 2 weeks now.

One strange thing is when someone calls on Line 1, display phone 10 gives me a half ring before going to the auto attendant. I don't know why. Line 2 and 3 don't do that on display phone 10.

How can I get the Caller ID to work? Am I missing something?

When you call one of the 3 numbers from an outside line, it doesn't ring - it goes right to the auto attendant. I've tried changing some ring settings but it doesn't do anything. Please keep in mind that the system is used. Maybe there's a setting the previous owner had that I can't figure out how to turn off. I'm clueless. I have the manual and the Telephone Programming Overlay.

Caller ID comes in between the 1st and 2nd ring, so you must set your auto attendant to answer on 2 rings. Then set your phone to Delayed ring, so that you don't hear those 2 rings before the AA answers, but if it should die, or all the ports be in use and another call comes in, your phone will ring on the 4th ring.

Now, does voice mail answer when you dial Intercom 777? If not, you also need to do some programming in regards to the voice mail ports.

Yes, the voicemail works perfectly fine.
I programmed X10 and X11 to delayed ring - I put 3 to be safe.
That fixed X10 from giving me the half ring because only line 1 was set to immediate ring on that extension.

Where can I change the auto attendant to answer on 2 rings?

I have VMS (#506) set to 3 rings on all 3 lines.

VMS #506 is where you change the AA rings - change it to two rings for each line.

There also was an issue with Partner PC Mail and not passing Caller ID through until you answer the call. While it is ringing you see "Voice Messaging System". Does the Caller ID show up after you answer the call or does it never come through?

Still not getting the Caller ID info. I'm going to call Verizon again to check if it's on...again.

It doesn't give me any Caller ID info before, during or after the call comes through.

I also changed VMS #506 from 3 rings to 2 rings. Still nothing. It also doesn't ring at all when I call in from my cell phone.

Called Verizon. They said the Caller ID is on all 3 lines and that they'll put a trouble ticket in. I'm going to bring one of my regular home phones in to see if the caller ID works on that - bypassing the entire phone system at the line. I'll know on Monday if it works.

Set a telephone for Immediate Ring, and see if the CID comes through before the AA answers.

Tried Immediate Ring. Nothing. Verizon checked the line from outside when I wasn't here and they called my cell phone and said the caller ID works. I still have to bring in a regular phone with caller ID to try it at the box inside. I'm still getting no Caller ID with this phone system. Is there any way to put those little Caller ID boxes before the phone on the desk? This is getting annoying.

What modules do you have? Some of the older modules don't support CID. For example, if you have a 206, it would need to be a 206 EC to support CID.

VMS Hunt Delay (#506)
Use this feature to determine when outside calls should be answered by the Automated Attendant of the voice messaging system.
You can set the system for any number of rings, 0–6.
Assigning more rings gives the operator an opportunity to answer calls before they go to the Automated Attendant.
VMS Hunt Delay is programmable on a per-line basis. In addition, you can program this feature so that calls can be handled one way during the day and a different way when the system is in Night Service.

Considerations
? If you do not subscribe to ICLID services and want immediate call handling, set this option to 0 rings.
? If you do subscribe to ICLID services and want immediate call handling, set this option to at least 2 rings. This allows the ICLID information to be detected before the call is sent to the Automated Attendant.
Programming
To change the VMS Hunt Delay setting for the voice messaging system’s Automated Attendant service:
1. Press f00 #506 at extension 10 or 11.
2. Select Day or Night mode by entering 1 or 2 respectively (the factory setting is 1 = Day).
3. Enter the line number.
The current setting is displayed.
4. To set VMS Hunt Delay, press <Next Data> until the appropriate value for the number of rings appears: 0–6 (2 is the factory setting).
5. To set VMS Hunt Delay for another line, press <Next Item> or <Previous Item> until the line number appears on the display. Then repeat Step 4.
6. Select another procedure, or exit programming mode.

Or
Set Delayed Ring on your Voicemail extension ports. If the AA is answering before the caller ID is sent at the second ring, than you will not recieve caller ID information.

I have the ACS 6.0 processor with the 3 phone lines plugged into it. I then have extension 10, 11, 12, etc. plugged into the ACS 6.0 processor below the phone lines. Next to that processor I have the 400EC module with nothing plugged into it. Next to that module I have the 206EC module with 2 extensions plugged into that. Do I need to move the phone lines into one of the other two processors?

Just plugged in one of the lines to the 400EC processor - CALLER ID WORKS! I just have to change the button descrptions on the phones - easy. I feel stupid. Thanks sysconsultant for asking me the "idiot" question. It worked.
