I continue to have problems with Partner 7 and voicemail, specifically MailVS r4 systems. For some reason, the MailVS adapter comes up as busy when no one is in voicemail. Anyone having similar problems? And is there a way to reset this adapter through PC Admin?

I know I could perform the #728 (save and reset) but too many users on the phone anytime I call the office.

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure there is no one in the VS such as inside users checking there messages, also if it's a 2 port with allot of users you may need to bump it up to a 4 port.

the R7 does not support the VSr3 or VSr4 you need a VSr5 with a patch from avaya,.

It is described here thread688-994259

Well I did some playing and fired up a R7 with a VS4 and it works fine, made a call and was told they will work together. I have had it up and running in the office and it is working great.

I did the same thing a month ago and it seems to work fine. R7 with a VS4

I went one step further took my Message 6 out of service and now am running a VS4 at my office to be sure it's a good test and it's been running now for a while with no problems at all with the R7. I even have a IP line coming into it.

Wish I had a VS3 to test as I feel it would probably work fine as well.

Its not that the VS 3 or 4 won't work. Its that there are issues with DND not allowing calls to be covered correctly to voicemail. The VS3 or 4 are no longer supported by Avaya and they will not have an upgrade for them. The VS 5 has similar issues and an upgrade can be provided through Avaya tech-support. Certain revisions of the VS5 won't even power up with the ACS R7 untill the upgrade of the VS5 is performed. The kicker is you need to upgrade the VS5 with a ACS R6 and then put the ACS R7 in.

1043 is right. Avaya needs to update their compatability charts. I recently was caught in this scenario. as long as DND is on the auto attendant transfers the call to ext 10. VM will cover if DND isnt used. My config was R.7 ACS w/ PMVS R.5 version 15. Other than try to get the patch I reinstalled a R.6. First time I ever had to DOWNGRADE!
