Parameter Incorrect

hi

my hard disk has a problem it was fine up to now but whenever i try and save things to my d: drive it comes up with an error message
<cannot make or replace file. parameter incorrect>
i dont know what this means.
can u help

Have you run scandisk or chkdsk (depending on version of windows) on the drive?

yup ive got xp pro. and that didnt spot anything i think is the settings?

Have you changed security permissions for the whole drive?

yea i checked them and they were all ok i ended up formatting the disk and its working fine for now at least cheer anyway m8 and thatnks for your help, im sure ill be back.
