Can anyone recommend a paging system that's easily installed, easily operated and is compatible with the Norstar MICS system?

I would appreciate it!

Colin

Any paging system will work. You need one with an amp that is large enough to power the required number of speakers for your particular application. I like Valcom myself- they have good audio, look nice, and can run on normal cat3 telco cable. Valcom also makes another line called Clarity that runs on 1 pair 18-20 gauge speaker wire. If you wanted something inexpensive with just a couple of horns for a small shop area, you could go with a Viking 2a-PA.

Thanks! I considered Viking as well. I think that it would do...it's a small shop.

You should be able to pick up a Viking 2a-pa for about 100 bucks at graybar, and that includes one horn. Additional horns run about $15. Remember you can change the page button, to feat-611 and it will broadcast over both the external horn and the internal sets if you like. (assuming all sets are in zone 1)

I would recommend a Valcom horn with built in volume control called a Valcom 1036B. You will also need an amp, Valcom makes it also. Total cost is about $150 but it works well.
