I have an IP500 v2 5.0 that i'm trying to get paging to work on. I don't have any available slots to put an analog station card, but I have an available analog trunk port. I have scoured these forums and have tried what everyone has suggested but I just can't get it to work. Here's what I currently have:

Analog trunk port set to Loop start, DTMF Dialing, Outgoing only (I have tried bothway also) set to Group ID 4
Shortcode *77, Dial, Tel Number . , Line Group: 4

When I go off hook and dial *77 nothing happens, phone idles for a couple of seconds and then goes back to normal date and time screen. Watching system status, I see the phone go off hook, and then once I dial the shortcode, the call simply goes away.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I would hate to have to put an entire separate analog station module on here for 1 thing. Thanks

if i remember correctly you need to plug in your test set to the analog port and put it offhook for it to work

Trunk needs talk battery to function. Page adapter for trunk level would help your cause.

It would help to know what you're plugging into as well. We typically put out Bogen UTI1's for this.

You cannot go trunk to speaker without a trunk adapter. I typically use Viking products but you have others such as Valcom and Bogen.

I am going to a Valcom V-1030C speaker with power supply. I haven't been back out there since the post. Heading there this week.

pmcook - I need a trunk adapter? What is that? Any particular ones that you would recommend, that are cheap since I did not include this in the original quote.

Thanks for the replies.

Go to Valcom's web page and search for "Trunk level Paging Adapter". Find one that suits your needs. V2000A would do it.
