Is there a way I can get a page footer in a subreport?

Not without a great deal of trouble--and then it would be a fake page footer. Is there a reason you cannot use the main report page footer?

I guess I could but I have a cover letter as the main report and I didnt want to have a page number on that

Put the page number in the page footer. Then do a conditional format to supress when "PageNumber=1"
