Hey all,
I have a random issue happening on a MICS 6.0 with PRI. Usually, any calls made outbound show on the receiver's caller ID with the main business number and the business name. Occasionally, the caller ID shows the main business number but shows the name of one of the employees at the business. I have verified that none of the extensions have OLI enabled. I have done test calls from every trunk in the circuit, but have been unable to duplicate. Also, the only names in the system are in the Call Pilot. None of the extensions are named. Has anyone run into anything like this before? Is it possible that name information from the CP is making its way onto outbound caller ID? Thanks in advance.

The only place outbound CLID come from is the Telco, OLI, the business and the DN name. How could the CLID possibly be inserting an employee name if you have none programmed any?

I have nothing input in the Business Name field.

I recently removed that employee's name from the CP and the issue is still occurring. I have triple verified that none of the DN are named. I am stumped.

Are you sure programming is taking?
i.e. call each other internally and see if a name does in fact show up.

Check the name carefully when calling outbound, if more than 7 characters you know its not the MICS.....but still weird.

Check who is saying they see the name when they get called it could be programed into the called party's system or cell phone speed dial.

I had that thought also. But one of the people reporting it is one of the main partners in the business who is seeing it at his residence on a personal land line. Haven't verified if it is POTS or VOIP yet.

It is just one employee. And I took his name out of the CP. Haven't done a reboot yet though. We did about 60 test calls to my office and never duplicated it. Next time I'm onsite, I will call my house just for testing purposes as well as perform the reboot.
