We have an MICS w/ 6.0 s/w and a DTI card. When we make calls they all show up as "out of area" on caller id for anyone we call. Is it possible to generate the caller ID (similar to what can be done with a merlin system) so that our main line shows up?
Regular T1 - in the CO programming of the T they can put in the 'main billing' number the will then go out as the CLID for outgoing calls across the span.
PRI - can use OLI programming in the Norstar.
at that point then I would call your telco and ask them to verify that you are sending the digits out then have them check and see what they have programmed to do with the info, also they might be expecting 10 digits
this is assuming that you are using PRI and not T-1 service.

We are using T1 and not PRI service. The tech indicated to me that the caller ID digits needed to be setup in our system not by them. Was he wrong? Is this not possible with T1 and only with PRI?
Ya OLI is for ISDN, your telco can assign a tel number (useually your billing number or main number) to all calls from the trunk group. with T-1 you don't send out any digits other than the number you actually dialed.
