I don't have a lot of info just yet, but apparently this problem has been going on for quite some time.
We're predominantly a Nortel shop but we've begun to introduce some Cisco WAN router's (7609's) into our network. Prior to this we had a few Cisco Dial Servers and a CLAW/CIP router..(and maybe a few odds and ends)...not much.
Apparently we've always had issues where the OSPF adjacencies between our Cisco and Nortel devices bounced periodically. The analyst who worked on the problem a few years back had a case open with Cisco, but they were never able to pinpoint anything. They just gave up since it was only a few devices seeing problems.
Are there inherent issues between Nortel and Cisco devices with respect to OSPF??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
