Oracle utilities for monitoring 'deadlocks' 1

I am new to an Oracle environment (Database Support/Analysis) and its utilities and after review of the included Oracle documentation, I have been unable to locate any basic utilities that will assist me in identifying 'deadlock' issues and how I can address them.
Can anyone assist me in locating these type of utilities (should they exist) and if so, is there any available SQL syntax that would accompany or simulate the same type of montioring?

Any information anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I remember when a deadlock occurs in Oracle RECO (process) kick in and terminates both transactions to free the resource

Thanks to all that have responded so far. It has helped me in better monitoring the way our Oracle databases are handling data and ongoing queries/processes.
