I am new to an Oracle environment (Database Support/Analysis) and its utilities and after review of the included Oracle documentation, I have been unable to locate any basic utilities that will assist me in identifying 'deadlock' issues and how I can address them.
Can anyone assist me in locating these type of utilities (should they exist) and if so, is there any available SQL syntax that would accompany or simulate the same type of montioring?

Any information anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

I just have send you a Word document explaining the subject.

Is there any way you could put that document in the FAQ section?

I have not write the document, and i cant
remember whre I foud it, so perhaps it is not legal
to publish it without authorization.

Ill send you too, via mail.

Could you send it to me too. I also a beginner of Oracle SA.

As far as I remember when a deadlock occurs in Oracle RECO (process) kick in and terminates both transactions to free the resource

Hope of some use

Thanks to all that have responded so far. It has helped me in better monitoring the way our Oracle databases are handling data and ongoing queries/processes.
