All,

I am upgrading an ops managed cluster this week with 5 nodes from MCD 4.0, convert to RDN sync and upgrade to 5.0

My question is - I cant seem to find much info on what im suppposed to do with the ops/ent. Ent is currently on 6.0.1.5 - does this need to be upgraded aswel?

Ideally we would get rid of ent/ops completey, however im not quite sure the process for this either.

once you upgrade to MCD 5 the Ent Man/Ops Man isn't used as much but can still preform some functions. What you want to do is cleanup any errors reported in OpsMan before you start then simply shut off any sync groups you have setup as the product no longer handles MAC work. There is an Ent Man ( only as OpsMan is removed ) available for MCD 5 if you still want to use it for backups, collecting alarms, inventory control etc. You will just need to keep its software assurance up to date ( an expense ).

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
