Our system is HiPath 4000 V5. And we are using SL3 cordless phones. They're all working fine.

A new batch of units arrived --OpenScape SL5. Vendor told us that this is the new batch of cordless phone, supposedly better than SL3 --which will soon "phase out".

After programming we tested the unit. The incoming calls did not reflect the calling number. It's just blank or a "BASE" on top of the display screen.

Need help please, on how to display the calling number.

The missed calls also did not display when you press the INT key.

Make sure when you created the stations for the new phones you set your call logging on the phone from none to what you want.

I don't have time to look it up, but I think there is a classmark for the phone or something in COS that says to display the call information.

I suspect it's the way you created those new stations - compare the SDAT and SBCSU between one that works and one that doesn't - look for differences.

Just a couple suggestions where to look.

The phones could be setup incorrectly as Generic Access Profile (GAP) Phones.
They will work but have no extra features like names etc.
Handset Types in Subscriber setup can be setup as 'Standard' 'Comfort' or GAP
Use the Standard or Comfort only when using Siemens/Unify Handsets

The GAP is totally not possible to display the number and name. It also uses the built-in ring tone of the phone (which is nice).

I tried using "Standard" and "Comfort". It still did not show the calling number. But I noticed after the call is ended, the number is shown for a few milliseconds and without the name.

Any more twerks I need to adjust?

Ensure that the Base Stations are using this COS for the inter slmc connections to work properly.

There are software releases for SL5 as well but you have to upgrade each one using USB directly to the phone.
Have a read of the PDF located in DECT folder

When you said "use TAPRO 15" did you mean to say STD=15?

I ran the programs you wrote and used STD=15 on the SL5, but the same issue --no incoming call display (even after restarting the phone).

Is the firmware upgrade necessary?
The latest one in the PDF you showed is: V116.062.00
The one in our SL5 phone is: V116.013.00

Maybe this is the cause why the display is not showing?
I'm gonna try this... I'll feed you back afterwards. Thanks!

That's what he meant. The "STD" of the phone is maintained by AMO TAPRO and in assistant is referred to by the "Standard (STD) Key Layout" tables...

I've downloaded and installed the "Gigaset QuickSync" on my PC but i do not know how to upgrade / update the firmware of the SL5. The application only has the "Check the internet for new firmware..." check box available in the settings. Any idea how to proceed with the firmware upgrade? My phone firmware version is V116.062.00 and the available update in the unify website is V116.013.00. Help pls.

Download that firmware to your PC.
The program will need it locally to upgrade the phone

I have downloaded the firmware and the the QuickSync. The QuickSync do not have any function or button to "update firmware" or browse for the file.
I've read a documentation of the QuickSync under the section on how it can update firmwares of certain phone units, and the SL5 isn't included in there.
There may be other versions of QuickSync that has the "firmware upgrade" function for the SL5. But the current version I have (8.5.874.3) isn't capable of doing so.
Stuck here. I can't seem to find any newer versions of QuickSync.

SL5 is NOT mentioned.

To update the SL5 you need the firmware update tool for the professional series phones
and not Quick Sync for the Gigaset phones.

Can you please provide any link download this update tool? Thanks!

Check the DECT/SL5 Tonido folder again.
Read all PDF Documentation before work

I've updated the firmware of the SL5 phone. But the display still didn't come up. I've had a chance to chat with an agent from Unify quoting that SL5 would not properly work with HiPath 4000 V5. He suggested upgrading our PABX to V7 (which is expensive). He said that SL4 works perfectly with V5 though. We're actually using SL4 and M2 (around 1,800+ subscribers), but the new delivery was 100 pcs of SL5, coz the vendor insisted that it will work. It did work but no display. I'm running out of hope. So now, I'm wondering if I there is a chance that I could load the firmware of SL4 to the new units of our SL5. Any chance? Btw, thanks to SBCSU for your contents at Tonido!

Hello,

contact me i can help you to register SL5 with all features at yizr Hipath 4000 V5

Best regards

Hi Andy,

Kindly assist us in our SL5.

As previously mentioned, we have 2 systems: a master and a slave.

The cordless phones installed in our master PABX do not display names of the called or the caller.

But in the slave PABX, the display names are there.

What could be the problem?

Good morning,

the new Openstage SL5 have another Firmware inside the handset, your "old" Hipath will only list them as GAP Handset without the PBX comfort Features. We can chnage the Firmware of the handsets, then you will have full features again. (same as SL3 / SL4 ect). This is the only solution. We are able to change the Firmware with special hard- und software

Best regards
Andy

Can you give us more info or details about your idea? Thanks!
