We have Avaya IP Office one x portal licenses & Mobility features licenses in my system.

I would like to use IP Office soft phone using my mobile phone (Apple I POD.

Please let me know what do i required to setup one x portal and which model of mobile phones will support.

you want to use the data connection to make phone calls if I get that right
try to install a SIP client and get a SIP endpoint license so you don't have to re-invent the wheel by making programs made for Microsoft OS working on Apple

I want to use my Apple I POD.

Kindly advise.

Unfortunatley it will not work, despite Apple's preachings to the contrary the world doesn't revolve around the iphone, you can load a SIP client on and use an endpoint licence, but not One-x in Telephony mode that's a totally different product for CM/Definity that avaya have helpfully also badged as "One-X" along with some handsets and a telephone system :)

Actually... "One-X Portal" as the title mentions, DOES work on the iPhone using a browser.. :)

But yeah, One-X Mobile isn't going to work.

One could argue there are many more "tools" available on the iPhone that can help improve productivity than there is on say a Blackberry.

2 bad u can't use 'm simultaneously.

Don't get me wrong. I think the iPhone is a 'next-gen' technology. A true revolution in user experience.

It's just my personal experience that whenever cell-phone/pbx integration runs into some kind of trouble iPhone's are usually involved. And the enduser expects 'moi' to reprogram the pbx to meet their Iphone's rediculous demands.

And yes. I'm frustrated with this apple contraption ;)

Well I think the Potential is there now with iOS 4.0, and it's multi-tasking abilities. I too would like to see an easier way to get some kind of working client that isn't a pain to configure for the iPhone.

I think a big reason you see it more with iPhones is because people believe that since they have that phone, they can do anything. Unlike a Blackberry or Windows Mobile device, they assume they can't do much of anything like that on the PBX side. At least from my experience that seems to be the general consensus.

iOS 4.0?
Well maybe.
Is 'good reception' already introduced as feature?

iOS 4.0 is the latest OS to run on the phones, which now has multi-tasking built it.

Now we're talking about Carriers, and not the hardware so much.. Rumor has it Verizon will carry it Q4 this year. I think I read RIM owns 34% of the Mobile market, followed by Apple at 27%. Not bad considering RIM has devices on every carrier, whereas Apple has just 1.

Yeah I've seen that. Supposedly the software update will address the attenuation issues. We shall see..

iPhone s*cks, the looks and use are great but there are a lot technical issues with it, radio receiver is one of it.
The biggest problem is the protection of Apple in respect to software development and software use.
Buy a decent Android phone, multitasking is standard, you can access porn and put anykind of software on it, oh i forgot, the phone works great.

I have a HTC Desire and i am very happy with it although i cannot load Avaya software on it ( maybe better too as the one-X mobile software is a pain in the *ss )

Amen Intrigant.

@h382,

The reception issue is definitely not a software bug. The external antenna shorts out when you hold the phone.

Many iPhone/iPad users need to read the kids book "The Emporers new clothes" and realise just cos it has Apple written on doesn't mean it's fantastic and they have to immediately run out and kiss Steve Jobs's Ass by queueing to buy one, then being blind to it's glaring flaws and shortfalls. It may be good but that's it, it isn't worth all the praise and adoration it seems to get :)

It does not suck :)

It works very well.
But the limitations can be annoying indeed.
Also the radio receiver is not there so it cannot be broken :)
What isn't in it cannot have technical issues.
