Hi guys,

Trying to set up off-premise message notification so when a voice message is left in a mailbox x729 it will notify a local cell phone (123-1234).

I've set the mailbox ext to outdial to pool. Made sure the COS assigned has Off-premise Msg Notification/Remote Notification enabled and turned on message notification for the mailbox.

We use access code 9 to dial out, for example 91231234 to reach cell phone 123-1234.

So I've tried various phone dial string syntaxes unsuccessfully, like:
1231234
1231234P9
9P1231234

It never calls the cell phone. One time I got a "system was unable to reach the number you specified for msg notification" in the mailbox extension x729 where I left the test message.

Any suggestions on the syntax I should use to get it to call the local cell phone number?

Thanks!
Rich

I forgot, grabbing at anything at this point.

Recap

-Voice Mails DN allowed access to PRI-A
-Voice Mails DN has no basic restrictions except for LD
-Mailbox has correct COS # which allows for Off Prem
-Mailbox XXX in Admin the Outdial is set to Route
-Mailbox user properties has number setup 9XXXXXXX
-Mailbox user properties has daytime entries (time) selected as to when it should notify
-Mailbox user properties has the entry On/Off turned to On
-Mailbox user properties select All messages and not Urgent Only
-KSU Time and date including AM or PM is correct

Your test Route 002 Dest 8 would not work because you told the Route to use a Pool instead of PRI

You should always post your KSU type and software level and Voice Mail type and software level
i.e.
MICS 6.1
NAM 4.1

Outta ammo!

Are there any outbound channels enabled on the voice mail?

Sorry guys, haven't been back to the site to try any other suggestions.
Been busy planning for an upgrade this Friday.
Hopefully next week.

Thanks!

Not sure but you might also need the "allow redirect" checked off for the vm DN's as well

Hi guys,

Tried different pool values besides 5 with still no luck.
What is interesting is that I also tried outbound transfer option as well with both 91231234 and 1231234 numbers, that did not work either.
Also even when I tried External Call Transfer F4 and tried to enter a number it kept saying invalid number.

So I think the system is programmed to not allow external transfers of any kind and so stops the off-premise notification from working as well. (Which is their company's policy)

Also when I spoke to the manager on site and gave her all the details of how hard this is turning out to be, she actually said to not bother with it any more, since we are upgrading to an Avaya system in a few months anyways.

So pretty much I'm off the hook (pun intended :)

Thanks to everyone for trying to help me, and still I did learn quite a bit from the experience frustrating as it was.
