Hi all,
I have an access front end link to SQL tables. on a particular form, when i update information on a subform it takes it fine, but after when i try to navigate to the next record or select another record from a combo box, i get an ODBC call failed message and the data in the subform stops connecting and #Name# shows in each of the fields on the subform. I really don't know whats up it was working yesterday, i did a compact and repair, to no avail, please advize!!! thanks in advance!

Hmm, for one, are you SURE that your recordset has more than one record in it? Is the recordset a direct link to a SQL table, or is it BUILT off of the SQL table, so in other words, is it a query or SQL statement pulling a certain set of data from the table? If so, it could be that you're trying to navigate past where there are any records.

Thanks Kjv1611,

i am linked directly to the tables and there are more than one record for this recordset. this is a subform i'm talking about so there is a record for the master form and corresponding records for the subform, all being derived from the SQL linked tables(seperate ones that are linked) it is very strange just when i add another record to the subform(and table) the connection gets dissrupted?? thanks for the help!

Well, it'd be a long test, but what about building a new database, copying everything over to it, except the linked tables, and then re-link the tables? Then see if you have the same issues in the new database?

ok i'll try, i was thinking of just rebuilding the form if there wasn't anything obvious ya'll could point me too. Thanks!

No BIT field allowing Null value in the linked table(s) ?

Hope This Helps, PH.
