User call someone that's on the phone and get's send to coverage path of V/M, then he get a message from octel that
yopu can either camp on or call back. Can someone tell why is replying this way instead of going directly into mail box?
savedlc, after reading the SW level in the title of your original post, that's an Aria 250 version of software and I have never seen this feature available on that or any version of Octel Aria software. I could be wrong but it sure sounds more like something else like an embedded PBX prompt or maybe another voicemail system entirly
Are you sure this is a voicemail feature? Camp-On, and call back are typical PBX features. I don't recall that the Octel systems have this feature, (but I could be wrong)
With the Camp-On feature of a PBX, it works as you discribe, if the phone is busy, the PBX prompts the caller to Camp-On, it's like a exteneded call waiting. The called party then hears a "camp-on" tone to let them know someone is waiting for them to end the call. This is typically used by an attendant, who transfers a call to a busy extension.
if it's not an OAS app like Ken mentioned, it's definatly not a feature in the standard Octel Aria system.
It can either be an Avaya G3 function or something outside of that. Might check their coverage path, forwarding option and I would definatly check if other phones do the same thing. You might find they have their phone forwarded off net or to their cell phone
Thanks, It is related to Qseg trunk group parameters it would seem.
Heres the problem, when a NJ user calls NY, then someone in NY calls a NJ user, then we get the camp-on message. It does not happen when NJ calls twice to NY.
