Hi,

I'm new to phone systems and new to the forum.. please be gentle. We have a cover answer group for our marketing team. It points to coverage path c1 which says to go to C1 ring 4 times and then go to h99 (voicemail?). For some reason it never rings 4 times before going to vmail. It only rings 2 times. I've bumped the numbers up and it still only rings 2 times.

Only time I've gotten more rings is by adding an extra step on the cov path.. so it goes to C1 ring 4 times C2 ring 4 times h99. This still only got me 4 rings total.

Am I missing something simple here...

thanks in advance.

The original calls rings 4 times and then covers to point 1 wwhich is your covera answer group (c1). It will ring there twice and the third ring should go to the voicemail system. In the earlier versions of software, the number of rings between points of cover is default to (2) rings. After (around V9) you can program the number of rings between points of coverage.

On the display system parameters form See below

You can change the number of rings between points of coverage, but this will make a system wide change, so be careful.

Thanks for the help on this. That worked perfectly. We only use 2 maybe 3 coverage groups so the fact that it was a system wide change wasn't a huge thing.

I'm glad I found this forum. this is my first post but I've already solved 3 or 4 things by poking around in here.

Thanks

Glad that got you going and welcome to the forum.

Also look at the FAQ section above. A lot of very good information there.
