I am a newbie with phone systems and my phone service company is asking several questions. the only one I don't know how to answer and where is parameter in our BCM 400 is the number of outpulsing digits. Can someone let me know what are they expecting? and where do I program it in the BCM? My initial thought is that we are outpulsing 10 digits (XXX) XXX-XXXX but I suspect I am not getting the whole picture here.

Thanks

That refers to the number of digits sent by the telco to your equipment for inbound DID calls. Currently the BCM can receive a max of 7. In 4.0, that will increase to 12.

4 digits received seems to be pretty typical.

The only thing the LEC should need is:

4 Digital Outpulsed. It has to be a very special situation for me to ever use anything else. (lead digit on outpulsed should not be 1, 9, or 0)

B8ZS - Coding

ESF - Framing

NI2 - protocal

Thanks very much! This helps a lot. Just an addition to the questions from my telco, what is descending hunt?

Thanks again,

-mmg

It has to do with which channel the calls come in on the PRI. You want to receive calls on the first channel. so they send you the calls in ascending order. Channel 1 to 23. You will make outgoing calls in decending order. Channels 23 to 1. So tell them you want ascending. Set your switch to decending.

Hope this helps.

Again, thanks. This forum is really helpful!
