I've created a VM pro module, based on an article from this site, which places the caller into a conference call, after verifying that user's PIN number.

Can anyone think of a way to announce to the caller, how many callers are already on that conference line?

No, well not reliable.
You can use a counter within a generic action which increase a user variable ( NoOfConfMemb ) everytime a user enters the conference.
Next you can use a generic action to play a wav file "You are participant" then NoOfConfMemb.wav and then "in the conference".
Or someting like that, use your imagination.
The counter will NOT decrease if a member leaves the conference so the value is not reliable.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Thanks for the response. I can make that work, with that one caveat.

if you use a conference bridge scheme that uses a moderated bridge, the moderator can see who is on the bridge on the display of their phone (press details), and drop/mute people as well.

One suggestion from Gunnaro was to transfer the users into a queue with no members (or voicemail or anything fancy). You could put an annoucement into the queued part that announces your position in queue. Make the still queued loop, but with nothing in it but hold music, and a generic action that would check the status of a variable. That variable would be set open or closed by the moderator. Once open, the users would transfer to the conference bridge.

Aacon, wouldn't that $POS be read out loud to anyone in the holding queue?

It's early, haven't had my coffee yet... But maybe add a "silent" menu with option # to hear the $POS?

Kind regards

Gunnar

It would just be in the first queued point, and then dump the user to the still queued point.
