Number Block System Wide, but allowed to only ONE Ext

Does anyone have any of any idea on how to block a long distance number, system wide, but also to allow it to be dialed
by a dedicated COR within the system.

The customer is wanting access allowed only to one extension on the site, which is a modem. Which may make this somewhat complicated to achieve, since that the software is doing the dialing.

I've been able to block the full number in the "change ars ana xxx" command, but I'm stuck after that. Reading thru 1000+ pages in the manual was no help.

I've never attempted to try this and my co-worker has never been asked, I would've made the ext a hot line and done it that way, but since it's a modem, now were both scratching out heads.

I was wondering if anyone has done this and was successful.

I'm running a G3x(large) with R013x release.

Any help on trying to get this to work would be nice.

Thank You

Mike

If you're not already using the highest FRL of 7 on your routing patterns, you could route the call out on the ARS analysis table on a route pattern that has an FRL of 7; then give the COR of the extension that needs to call it an FRL of 7.

Privileged group-number, system-number, and enhanced-number lists provide access
to numbers that usually might be restricted.

Abbreviated Dialing Privileged Group Number List
A telephone user with authorization to access an Abbreviated Dialing Privileged
Group Number List can place calls to any number on that list. The system does
not check COR assignments.

Privileged System Number List
A telephone user with authorization to access a Privileged System Number List
can place calls to any number on that list. The system does not check COR
assignments.

Another option might be to use ARS Partition Routing. For everyone in Partition 1 the entry would be 'deny'. The modem would be placed in a new COR with Partition 2 and send it out a new Route Pattern. To use Partition Routing, the entry in the ARS Analysis table would be 'p1' for Partition Route 1:

change partition-route-table 1 Page 1 of 1

Thanks for the tips everyone. I'll give them a try and will let you know what my findings are.
