ntvdm.exe runs at 100%

I am running Visual Dbase 5.5 to generate a program and tonight I find that when I get an error in the program structure it sets off ntvdm.exe running at 100% and I have to close, not done this before tonight.
Can anyone give my some help.
I have Win XP with SP2 which has been running fine for the last month or so.

Having done a spy run with 3 Programs and found all clear I find that the program dbasewin.exe is the one running at 100% know, also raed another thread that it could be a hardware issue, Power supply possible, had strange problem that machine reset 3 time tonight and power cable became dead, change lead and was came back on, can't check fuse as I can't get to plug easily.
Problem still there if I use Dbase 5.00 which runs in DOS window.

Thanks for help, but found my problem, the Program was in an endless "IF" loop and a simple ESC key stopped it.
But found some very useful info with your help.

Can anyone point me to Visual Dbase Forums for help on this program.
