NS700 auto-attendant first time setup

I have a new Panasonic NS700 phone system installed. We have the phones registered and incoming calls are working, though I am now trying to get the auto attendant feature to work. I am at a loss as to why it only rings through to the phones rather than going to the menu I created in the custom service 4.3

I simply want incoming calls to immediately go to a menu system which then transfers to the correct extension

looking through all the menus I figure I am missing quite a few steps here. any help would be greatly appreciated.

point ddi to UM group number (defaul;t 500)

This will by default go to custom menu 1 sort routings and rec greeting

I can change DDI under 10.3 and choose 'destination settings'? this is the only spot where I can see to choose a VM group (when I check VM Group DPT)

DIL if using PSTN lines, ddi if using SIP or ISDN

Day service to UM group find the floating number at 3Group-.7Um Group>.2Unit settings

Put the floating group number in the day routing
