I have a AMD 3700+ with Abit AN8 32X mobo, Win XP Pro, I can't for the life of me get my mic to record sound. I've now tried 3 different mics, including a logitech that I bought brand new from a store, a AudioFX force feedback headset with mic, and a logitech gaming headset, none of them work as far as the mic is concerned yet I am able to get sound in all the headpieces.
I've tried Ventrilo and window's sound recorder. There isn't a mute button on my logitech mic so i know its not muted, nor is it muted in my sound properties on windows. However, I am not able to select the mic in the sound properties, theres a little check box under the volue that says "select" but i cannot put a check in there, nor any of the other boxes. Stero mix has a check in the select box, but i cannot uncheck it. I'm using the onboard sound which is realtek 97, audio driver version: 5.10.0.5930, Directx version: Directx 9.0c, Audio Controller: nVidia(0059) Audio Codec: ALC850.
I've tried pluggin my mic in all the slots in the back just to make sure they weren't accidently routed wrong, when i plug the mic into the mic slot my Abit Audio EQ program detects that the mic is there and is connected. SO i'm pretty much out of ideas. I've reset my computer, tried everything I can think of anyone able to shed some light?
