Hi,

I have a problem with Nortel voicemail which I have been unable to solve. Basically I have a DN200 which also has an associated mailbox. Now this mailbox is configured correctly i.e it has a Class of service, it is enabled and working. Now the problem is that I have a 2616 set with a MWK key and message waiting allowed class of service but the message waiting key lights up but when I access the mailbox even though I am told that I have no new messages. Can anybody point me in the right direction to solve this ? Is this another mailbox which is pointing at my mailbox ?
Cheers

If you go to the Meridian Mail screen with the "FIND" button then scroll down to "MESSAGE WAITING INDICATION DN" then put the dn of the set you want to check it will bring up all the ext's with that dn.

Thanks for your help but when I searched for sets with message waiting DN for my set it only returned my set -?
Anybody any other ideas?

Are any of these extensions appearing only on your phone?

If so, do any of them have their own voicemail box. If so, that will light the light, and when you check YOUR messages, it could tell you there are no messages.

See if any of these extensions have a mailbox associated with them. That is where I would start. It can happen if mailboxes are not cleaned as people leave.

Hi John,

Yes SCR 208 and SCR 408 both have their own mailbox. These extensions only appear on my set. Now when I view both mailboxes
Mailbox 208 - has prime dn as 208 and message waiting indication DN of 208

Mailbox 408 - has prime dn as 408 and message waiting indication DN of 408

Both mailboxes have valid Class of Service and if i call the extensions a message is left in Message center and the lamp lights. The main problem is that at certain times of the day the lamp lights even though I know nobody has called me or left a message for me? Is it possible that some broadcast message is being sent - How could i check this out

Cheers
Q Jones

if 208 & 408 only appear on your phone and the message indicator in voicemail points to those DNs then i think thats your problem. Why not set 208 & 408 under one mailbox (is 408 the rollover for 208?) and put an XMWK key on your phone for messages left on 208?
