I need to add a network group to my aging Option 81c that's running release 23. I have to do this in order to get enough IPE shelves to get rid of the SL-1 PE shelve's i'm currently running! In any case I've found a great NTP on adding a network group to an IGS system but it's for newer releases (Specifically whenever they added the CUTOVR command in ld 135. The first time I did this it went well and I was able to split the cores using the SPLIT command, as opposed to putting the cpu in maint mode, and go into LD17 to add the CONF/TDS and CNI cards needed. I have two groups currently (0,1) and I'll be adding group 2. Here's what I get when I try to add the CNI port

EXT0 3pe
CNI 13 0 2
CNI
EXT1 3pe
CNI 13 0 2
SCH5805

SCH5805 states that there is already a CNI port attached to group 2. When I print my CEQU, however, both EXT0 and EXT1 show the same entries for groups one and two under each heading. Also, it tells you in the NTP to split, and do these steps on core 1, then CUTOVR and do them on core 0. I can't "CUTOVR" so I haven't made it that far but also it just won't let me put in "13 0 2" on both EXT0 and EXT1. What am I missing? Does anyone have the proper books for this on this or a close release?

I've just dialed into a Option 61c running V23 and get the same as you do.

CNI

As noted above in my CEQU printout both EXT0 and EXT1 have the same things for the two current network groups so why won't it let me add it on EXT1 if I already have on EXT0? (it also works the same reversed ie. Add to EXT1 and then try to add to EXT0 still get SCH5805

13 is not a valid value for CNI.
CNI s p g
s = slot 9-12
p = port 0-1
g - group 0-7

Try to program with correct values and you should be fine.

It's a phone system, NOT a clock!
