Nortel Phones in Basic Mode - No Transfer

I am trying to add a soft transfer button to the norstar phones, my Avaya ip office is 8.1.63 running in Basic Mode.
Feature *3 doe not work to save to a button.
Any ideas?

The Basic Mode does not provide a Transfer button on Nortel phones.
You MUST dial Feature 70 to initiate a transfer.. Every time...

If you assign an Auto Dial ICM button (DSS/BLF) on your phone for another extension,
you can press that DSS/BLF button to Transfer the call without using the Feature 70 method.
