I have 3 Norstar VOIP Gateways, 1 BCM, and 1 Option 11C. I would like to use the G.729 codec. Calls from the BCM to M1 and from BCM to VOIP Gateway complete fine in both directions. Calls from VOIP Gateway to M1 sound very quiet and garbled. If I switch over to G.711 or G.723, it sounds fine.
In addition, I can't complete any calls if I have 2 IP Trunk cards enabled. I get a fast busy for everything coming from the VOIP Gateway. However, calls are fine that come from the BCM. The only way it works with the VOIP Gateway is when I have the 2nd IP Trunk card disabled. This customer would like to be able to use both of the cards he purchased. I am pointing to the VOIP gateway as the problem, especially on the codec issue.
Any thoughts out there? Nortel is also stumped and said they are going to design and will get back to me.
