HELLO I HAVE INHERITED A NORSTAR STARTALK SYSTEM BUT I CANT TELL WHAT ITS CAPABILITIES ARE .. CAN ANYONE HELP???
IT SEEMS TO BE AN OLDER MODEL...
THE INFO IS NT8B7ODJ-93 2.2 2.0.1 STARTALK..
IT HAS TWO JACK CENTERS MARKED 1-2 AND 3-4
HELP....I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THIS SYSTEM CAN OR CANT DO.. THANKS IN ADVANCE

It sounds like you have a 2-port star talk. It comes with 24 mailboxes unless you have the expansion module then you have 48 mailboxes.

well with that NT number I am pulling up a start talk 2.04 software ,
which is more then likely for a startalk B(being a 4 port).

The part number NT8B70 is for sure a startalk A,B,C voice mail which was used on the Modular 8x24 cabinet. The last letters indicate what release it is. which is saying 2.04 , so its been more then likely upgraded from a 2.01.
but then again you never know till you fire it up.
Very old voice mail , 2.01 is not even y2k compliant. but there is a way to set the date back and get the time stamp correct.
The Nam is what replaced that voice mail. has all of your basic features auto attendent etc ...

was discontinued in the mid 90's.

What is the procedure for correcting the timestamp?

Find a year from the late 80's or early 90's that match this year (as far as the date and day matching)and set it to that. Because the time stamp only gives the day and time of the call. I think 1997 should work but next Feb you'll have to change it agin because it is a leap year.
